The last problem is already sparking controversy! What do you guys use as stitch markers?
I use safety pins! Since most of my work in in a circle, I have safety pins everywhere. In my wallet, on my jacket, on my desk, on my bulletin board…

I don’t use markers often, but I’ve used bits of yarn, bobby pins, and even a pair of small hoop earrings. (the kind that close in on themselves and don’t require a backing)

My first ever stitchmarker was a paperclip bent into the shape of an S. I use that and another paperclip bent more like safety pin. I haven’t lost either. X33 I crochet in the round at home though…

I’ve been known to use twisters/twist ties (or whatever it is Americans call them). Then I bought some real stitch markers, but I keep a couple of twisters lying around just in case.

I use actual plastic stitch markers, but if those are not around, then I use a cable needle I have (for knitting). It works pretty nicely, but if you’re gonna use that, it has to be one with a small diameter.
